Hormozgan-Haji Abad

General Location 

Haji Abad covers an area of approximately 10955.7 square kilometers North of Hormozgan Province. It is 1200 meters above sea level. From the North and East it has access to Kerman Province, from the West to Fars Province and from the South to Bandar Abbas. It’s center is 165 kilometers away from the north of Bandar Abbas on the Bandar Abbas-Sirjan road and has a more in pleasant weather than other cities in the provincere According to the latest census the population number about 92280. 

Haji Abad has 3 districts, 1 city, and 6 rural districts:

The General district: city of Haji Abad. Tarom and Daragah rural districts.

The Fareghan  district: Ashkara and Fareghan rural districts.

The Ahmadi district: Kooh shah and Ahmadi rural districts.

In summer temperatures can reach up to 40 degrees Celsius, while dropping in the winter to as low as-1.5 degrees Celsius. The people of this region speak Persian with a unique local accent. Their major occupations are agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts and public service.

Historical Monuments and tourist attractions

Haji Abad fortress

This fortress is located at the gates of the cit and dates back to the Ilkhanan, Timurid, and Saffavid periods. It is possible that it was also used during the Saffavid era.

Astaneh Imamzadeh Seyyed Mohammad

Imamzadeh Seyyed Mohammad is descended from Imam Musa-Ibn-Jafar(PBUH). The tomb is located opposite the gates of Haji Abad. It is one of the main attractions for the people.

Astaneh Imamzadeh Amir Nezam-e-din 

This Imamzadeh is descended from Imam Mohammad Bagher(PBUH) and is also located at the gates of the city of Haji Abad.

Tezerj Waterfall 

It is one of the most beautiful and important tourist attractions of Haji Abad which has a lot of visitors. This amazing waterfall is located in a beautiful region which has nice weather and is among the Palm Trees of Tezerj village.

Beautiful Nature of Bokhoon 

The green village of Bokhoon with its vast orchards and gardens is located in the valley between the Bokhoon Mountains and is 85 kilometers away from Haji Abad. There are many springs in these gardens and orchards which provide plenty of water for the agriculture.

Haji Abad Watermills 

Haji Abad watermills can be seen in some of the villages in the region but they are not used anymore. In the old days these mills helped the people turn the economic wheels of their lives. Among the most important mills are Tezerj, Barghaneh, Fareghan, Se-Cheshm, and Sa’adat Abad.

Haji Abad hot Spring 

This spring in on the Bandar abbas-Haji Abad road, 30 kilometers away from Haji Abad. The springs’ sulfuric water comes out of cracks in the limestone.

Dehsheikh hot spring

This spring is on the Haji Abad\Dowlat Abad road, southeast of Dehsheikh village. The source of the spring is East of Haji Abad. The springs’ sulfuric water comes out of cracks in the limestone.

Fareghan Mountains

One of the spots which has pleasant weather in Haji Abad township is the Homag, Zardkooh, Fareghan, Koosha, and Kaferi mountains. This mountainous region is intact. A variety of birds and animals have made this place their habitat.

Some of the other attractions of Haji Abad include: Kafaran, Ahmadi, Baynooj, Tashkooie, Golshan, Sorkh and Tarom fortresses, resting place of Agha Seyyed, protected area of Tarom, Golzar and Neyzar, palm jungles, Hezarbari Caves in Shahdadi Village, Giss Caves in Tangedoie, Baghan and Sirmand village, etc.
